The "Safe Home" Charity Foundation was established with one primary goal — to restore a sense of home, comfort, and security to those who have lost everything due to the war.
We help families forced to leave their homes in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to adapt and start their lives anew. Our main focus is on families with children. We are convinced that despite all the hardships, childhood must remain protected. Therefore, we do not simply provide support; we help parents and their little ones successfully integrate into their new communities, creating a safe and friendly environment around them.
«Safe Home» is not just an organization; it is a project born out of personal experience. The founder of the fund, Olha Shevchenko, is a displaced person from the occupied part of the Luhansk region. She left behind nearly 60 years of life in her hometown, her favorite business, and her familiar lifestyle. Finding herself evacuated, she, like millions of her compatriots, went through all the difficulties and challenges that internally displaced persons face.
This challenging path and a deep understanding of the problems from the inside became the catalyst for action. Olha realized: when you lose your own walls, what you need most is a foothold — people who will understand, support, and help you stand firmly on your feet.
Today, the "Safe Home" foundation unites international benefactors, donors, and caring people from all over the world who care about the fate of Ukrainians. Thanks to their support, we are able to provide families with essentials, help children develop, and build a new future together.
We believe that home is not just a geographical point or a building. Home is a place where it is safe. And we do everything to ensure that every family we care for finds their «Safe Home» once again.
To restore a sense of security and help Ukrainian families affected by the occupation rebuild a dignified and safe life in a new place.
We believe that a home is not just walls, but a space where children grow up in safety and parents have a foundation for a confident tomorrow.
We aim to provide material assistance to families facing difficult life circumstances.
One of our key areas of focus is voucher-based assistance, enabling families to purchase essential food, hygiene products, and medicines through partner retail networks.
We also support children in childcare institutions and temporary accommodation centers for internally displaced persons by providing educational materials, books, toys, and other resources that contribute to their learning, development, and well-being, in line with identified needs and the Foundation's available resources.
We aim to help children and young people cope with the psychological impact of war by combining emotional support with opportunities for learning and personal development.
One of our key areas of focus is organizing art therapy sessions designed to support children's emotional recovery.
Another key area of our work is organizing interactive, game-based English speaking clubs that help children and young people develop communication skills, build confidence, and strengthen social interaction.
Our long-term strategy focuses on partnering with local municipalities and regional administrations to identify underutilized municipal buildings, transforming them into safe, sustainable social housing for internally displaced families with children.
Founder of the foundation. Internally displaced person since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
We are here to support your family at every step of the adaptation process. In this section, you can register for upcoming events and educational activities organized by the Safe Home Foundation or submit a request for targeted assistance.
The Safe Home Charity Foundation works thanks to the support of caring people and international donors. Every transfer provides direct assistance to a specific family from the temporarily occupied territories. Together, we restore their sense of safety and home.
